BMG Audiology

When you have a problem with your hearing, you may need to turn to an audiologist. Audiology is the field of medicine that focuses on the science of hearing and associated disorders. Baptist Medical Group audiologists work with patients of all ages to diagnose and treat hearing and balance problems.

What do BMG audiologists do?

When people come to a BMG physician who specializes in audiology, they are typically looking for help with hearing problems. BMG audiologists have the experience and knowledge needed to diagnose these problems and provide recommended treatment.

By using audiometers, computers and other testing devices, BMG audiologists can determine the seriousness of a hearing loss, the type of hearing loss and which areas of the balance system may be causing the patient's symptoms.

Common hearing and balance disorders diagnosed by BMG audiologists include the following:

  • Hearing loss
  • Hyperacusis
  • Tinnitus
  • Vertigo

BMG audiologists may work with other health care professionals, such as speech-language pathologists and physical therapists, to develop a proper treatment plan. In such cases, BMG physicians' top priority is the patient's well-being. Our audiologists focus on treatment that will improve hearing, coping skills and overall quality of life.
