What can a patient expect when they have you as a doctor?

Getting a cancer diagnosis can be scary for patients and their families. My patients can expect to have a surgical oncologist who is thoughtful, empathetic and dedicated to excellence at all phases of their care. I will spend enough time with you and your family to fully explain your diagnosis and the variety of treatment options available to ensure that your treatment plan aligns with your goals. I will be there with you every step of the way to help you and your family navigate through the process of decision-making, surgical treatment and recovery.

What is the most important factor in a doctor patient relationship and why?

It is critical that a cancer patient and their surgeon establish a strong, mutual trust to achieve the best outcomes. I always give an honest and clear explanation of your disease process and what can be achieved with surgery to help you and your family make the right treatment decisions for you.

What hobbies or activities do you enjoy when you're not working?

I enjoy spending time with my family.

What about your line of work do you find the most rewarding and why?

Helping patients and their families navigate the challenges of cancer care is extremely rewarding. Seeing my patients return to the same high quality of life that they had prior to their cancer diagnosis is one of the best parts of being a surgeon.
