Meet The Doctor

What can a patient expect when they have you as a doctor?

Someone with a strong passion for patient care. I enjoy spending time helping to educate patients and integrating their thoughts into their plan of care. I find that this helps to aid in improving compliance in care and overall health outcome. I like to discuss with patients their symptoms, what has and has not helped in the past and then educate the patient on the plan of care including testing and treatment options.

What is the most important factor in a doctor patient relationship and why?

There is nothing more important than listening to a patient. Listening to a patient not only opens communication but also helps to establish the provider-patient trust. Listening also sets the tone that the patient is leading the appointment with their needs and concerns and not just the provider assuming what they need based on the appointment type.

What hobbies or activities do you enjoy when you're not working?

I am involved with my church and I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, working in my yard and traveling.

What about your line of work do you find the most rewarding and why?

The most rewarding part of my job is when a patient tells me, "Thank you for listening to me, I feel like I was heard today and educated on everything I need to know." We are taught as a fundamental in nursing to listen to and educate our patients on their conditions and preventative measures. I have brought this foundation of nursing into my provider role. I love it when my patients express how much they appreciate me taking the time to explain their condition and treatment regimen. It is rewarding to know that patients appreciate this viable foundation in their health care.
